DADventure Disney Top 10 Tuesday – Top 10 Classic Disney Parks Snacks

Welcome back to DADventure Disney’s – round table of some of my favorite Disney Fan Parents on Instagram.

Every week, I work alongside this merry band of Disney fans to find our Top 10 favorites in all things Disney.

This week, the Disney Mega Fans are: @dad_at_disney, @daddingatdisney,, @dismoms, @disneybaby4life, @disneyblogmomma, @disneymagicmam, @disneymommingsohard, @disneyparksmom, @milehighdisneymom, @suburbandisneymom, @the_pixie_mom, @truedisneymom, and yours truly @dadventuredisney.

Our topic this week: Top 10 Classic Disney Parks Snacks!

We’re not talking about the fancy food at the Epcot Food & Wine Festival, not the speciality items at those hidden kiosks and not even those amazing favorites that are only served in one specific restaurant.

We’re talking about those snacks you can find in any park, on either coast, at almost every snack cart on the street – and yeah – a lot are Mickey shaped!

Our Disney Mega Fans submitted their own Top 10 to me, and I used a special DADventure-tastic scoring system to get us our consensus Top 10.

Some highlights…

14 of us submitted ideas and 28 different food items were nominated.

Of all the submissions, 13 of the snacks can be Mickey Mouse shaped.

Apparently, our crew has a sweet tooth! 20 items suggested were sweet, while only 8 were savory.

For the first time – ONE item was on EVERY one of our ballots! Can you guess which one?

On to the list – let’s go!

Number 10

Corn Dogs
Top 10 Score: 1.43, nominated on 4 of 14 ballots.

Corn dogs can be found all around the Disney Parks, in various incarnations. One of the biggest crowd favorites are the corn dog nuggets at Casey’s Corner in the Magic Kingdom. By the way, have you seen the new-ish foot long corn dog at Sleepy Hollow Refreshments in Magic Kingdom – WHOA!

Number 9

Top 10 Score: 1.50, nominated on 4 of 14 ballots.

There’s candy EVERYwhere at Walt Disney World. Don’t you dare get caught with M&Ms or a Hershey bar – come on – this is DISNEY! Get a giant lollipop that your kids will have 4 licks on and then cry when you throw it away. Get some of the famous Goofy Gummies, a HUGE hit with those young and old alike. Chocolate, white chocolate, nuts, fruity, classic, new, fancy, simple… so many choices to choose from.

Number 8

Caramel or Candied Apple
Top 10 Score: 2.21, nominated on 5 of 14 ballots.

Disney has elevated the art of the candy or caramel apple. In many stores around the parks you can find all kinds of apples – many with a nod to the mouse with the big ears. They spruce them up for holidays, festivals and seasons, too. Just make sure your dental work is pretty secure!

Number 7

Mickey Ice Cream Sandwich
Top 10 Score: 2.29, nominated on 8 of 14 ballots.

We all remember our freezers being full of those chocolate wafer ice cream sandwiches, as kids. You had to peel the paper off as fast as you could before the whole thing would melt INTO the wrapper and ruin your tasty treat.

Disney made theirs Mickey-shaped, of course, and we can’t get enough of them!

Number 6

Rice Krispies Treats
Top 10 Score: 3.43, nominated on 8 of 14 ballots, 1 first place vote.

Does it get more nostalgic for childhood sweets than the classic Rice Krispies treat? SO simple to make and, especially when they’d be warm right out of the oven, irresistible.

Disney does them in ALL kinds of shapes (including Mickey of course) and all different sizes, colors and toppings, too. Our crew were partial to the white chocolate dipped ones.

Number 5

Top 10 Score: 3.57, nominated on 12 of 14 ballots.

The smell of popcorn is intoxicating. Buttery… salty… GOTTA HAVE IT! At Disney you get the ‘collectors’ bucket and your refills are only $2 for the rest of the trip. You attach the bucket to your stroller or backpack and have ready-to-go snacks all day long!

I started to research the numbers of different flavors of popcorn they have in the parks now and stopped as my eyes started to cross and all I wanted was some popcorn. Be back soon, gotta find my air popper…

Number 4

Mickey Ice Cream Bar
Top 10 Score: 5.64, nominated on 12 of 14 ballots.

When it comes to Mickey-shaped treats, this ice cream bar is usually right at the top of every list. There’s something so satisfying, on a hot day, to bite off one of Mickey’s ears and have the cool ice cream fill you up and cool you down.

They box these bad boys now and you can find them in many major grocery chains back at home – but it will never be the same as in the parks.

Number 3

Top 10 Score: 6.36, nominated on 12 of 14 ballots, 4 first place votes.

Churros are a snack most people don’t normally have outside of a carnival or theme park. Not a lot of people I know whipping these up at home for a dessert for the family. So, that makes the churro even more special to enjoy in the Disney Parks.

You can find them warm on many snack carts and now in the new Sunshine Churros stand in Disney Springs – SOOO many different kinds to try!

Number 2

Mickey Pretzel
Top 10 Score: 7.00, nominated on 14 of 14 ballots! 2 first place votes.

Photo: Disney

Before everyone loses their minds, I have to mention – GET THE CHEESE!! You know the stuff, the ‘guilty pleasure’ cheese sauce we all love. Many of the folks submitting their votes this past week have mentioned; “Is it really a Mickey pretzel, if you don’t get the cheese?”

Raise your hand if you’ve had a Mickey pretzel in the parks before. Ok, one, two, three, four… keep them up.. five, six, seven…. ok, this could take a while – let’s get to number one.

Number 1

Dole Whip
Top 10 Score: 7.79 (current record holder for highest point of any list), nominated on 13 of 14 ballots (I won’t say who skipped it so they are safe from harm), 5 first place votes.

Photo: Disney

It’s a Disney fan sin to say A. you haven’t tried a Dole Whip or B. you don’t LOVE the Dole Whip. So, I won’t ask you to come forward if you don’t love it. It’s ok, DADventure Disney is a safe place.

We all love the classic and now there are various flavors, various shapes (have you seen the Yoda one yet?), various other things ADDED to the Dole Whip (pineapple upside-down cake, anyone?) and all kinds of Dole Whipped merchandise to find throughout the parks. It’s a food phenomenon!

Some favorites JUST missed the Top 10 – The infamous turkey leg, funnel cakes, fries, Mickey donuts, cupcakes, cotton candy, cinnamon rolls and a host of other foods just ready to make you drool all over your phone as you read the list.

But, there you have it! Our Top 10 Classic Disney Parks Snacks. What did you think of our list? Is Dole Whip your #1? Do you always have to have the cheese with the Pretzel? Mad the funnel cake didn’t make the cut? Share your thoughts in the comments below or hit us up on Instagram or Facebook.

Thanks to ALL our round-table Disney fans. Please be sure to click their names at the top and follow them on Instagram for amazing Disney fun!

See you all next Tuesday for a new Top 10!
