Welcome back to DADventure Disney’s round table of some of my favorite Disney Fan Parents on Instagram.
Every week, I work alongside this merry band of Disney fan parents to find our Top 10 favorites in all things Disney. See ALL our lists by clicking HERE!
This week, the group consists of these Disney Parent Panelists:
and yours truly @dadventuredisney.
Our topic this week: Top 10 Tools for Planning Your Disney Vacation!
A lot of us like to consider ourselves experts when it comes to Disney planning. But even the biggest Disney planner uses some “help” to get plans or inspiration for their next trip.
11 of our Disney Parents have joined the Panel today and we’re excited to share.
We came up with over 25 different tools we use. Apps, books, websites, social media accounts and more…
What made our Top 10? Let’s find out!
Unofficial Guide to Walt Disney World
Top 10 Score: 1.60, nominated on 2 of 11 ballots.
TouringPlans.com has MANY different tools to use for planning your trip, but for those of us that love the tactile feel of a good book – this one is one of the best!
They even have an edition if you’re traveling with kids. Disneyland and the Cruise Line too!
Professional Disney Planner
Worth their weight in gold!
Top 10 Score: 2.00, nominated on 2 of 11 ballots. 1 first place vote.
These folks are the PROS in the world of Disney planning. They help with the 180 day out dinner reservations. The 60 day out fast passes. The resort choices and so much more.
Top 10 Score: 2.20, nominated on 5 of 11 ballots.
What do you pack? Is a hurricane coming? How’s traffic going to be on the drive? Rain coats every day? Bathing suits? Weather apps will help paint the picture.
Also, is there nothing better than seeing your Disney arrival date pop-up on the Weather 10-day forecast? That’s when it gets real!
Wait Time & Crowd Calendars
Top 10 Score: 2.30, nominated on 3 of 11 ballots. 1 first place vote.
Like the weather, knowing estimated crowd sizes and line wait times is a HUGE piece of being prepared. TouringPlans.com has one of these apps called WDW lines. There is an annual fee, but it’s worth it! Especially if you go multiple times in a year.
They give you a crowd calendar, and on the day of your visits, they show the REAL wait times for lines and attractions.
Disney Parks Blog
Top 10 Score: 2.40, nominated on 5 of 11 ballots.
It’s an arm of Disney’s official site, but acts as the personable blog of all things Disney. New rides, new food, new trends and so much more. It’s the go-to to see what news Disney wants you to be aware of while planning your trip.
Top 10 Score: 2.60, nominated on 4 of 11 ballots.
Walt Disney World and Disneyland have great websites. You can find details on every ride, every resort, every attraction and menus for all the restaurants. Want to know what is at the park or more importantly, what is currently closed – this is your first stop!
Top 10 Score: 2.90, nominated on 4 of 11 ballots.
You can Google anything you’re curious about. You can use Google sheets to organize your planning. You can use Google Drive to store your files.
People say Google is one of the best tools in all of business – we agree.
Disney Food Blog
Top 10 Score: 3.90, nominated on 5 of 11 ballots. 1 first place vote.
If you’re planning a Disney trip and haven’t learned of Disney Food Blog yet, you’re missing out. AJ and her team of Disney fans, write tips, share news, create videos, author books and MORE about your Disney trip. If you really want to be inspired and prepared for your Disney trip, subscribe to Disney Food Blog ASAP!
Top 10 Score: 5.10, nominated on 8 of 11 ballots. 1 first place vote.
The voices on the street always ring with the most truth. If the street is Main Street U.S.A., the fans on the ground are who really can share how Disney vacations can work for you and your family.
Where does a lot of that sharing happen? On Instagram! Of course, we’d recommend you follow the group of us here on the Disney Parents Panel – we’re sharing stuff ALL the time. Up to 15 amazing accounts of Disney fans – pros at Disney World, Disneyland and one of us even lives abroad! Disney Vacation Club folks, Annual Passholders, Weekly Visitors and some of us who visit every 5 years or so. Lots to learn from us. Go visit us and all the people we love as Disneygrammers.
My Disney Experience
Top 10 Score: 7.60, nominated on 9 of 11 ballots. 3 first place votes.
Going to Disney? Download this app! (or the Disneyland one). Seriously. Stop reading this right now, and download it. Then come back.
Ok, all set?
With this app you will see your resort, park maps, wait times, restaurant menus, fastpasses, meal reservations, bus times, photo pass, and SO much more.
Thanks for reading and always remember – DADventure is out there!
